Decided to upgrade the tent this year to take longer holidays rather than just a weekend. Family consists of 2 adults & 4 kids and the Antares 12 fits the bill in that the kids get their own room and space for gear.
Has anyone had any experience of this tent so far (good or bad) or any general observations about Wynnster tent quality compared to other manufacturers. Wynnster tents don't seem as abundant as some other makes!
First post but been reading the site for ages!

Our old tent is a Wynnster and it's been brilliant. We just bought an outwell nebraska, but if I'd seen the Antares before we decided, we probably would have stuck with a brand we knew, as the smaller antares is very similar to the nebraska.
Also considering the Wynnster Antares 9XP.Just about enough room but with only 4 bedrooms. I might be a slight bit worried about the footprint size of the Antares 12.
Wynnster tents are imho great quality, I have last year's Antares 13 which is huge, (slightly different dimensions and no sig) I shouldn't have any trouble with pitch size as I will only be using it on sites that don't have specific pitches, so it depends what kind of sites you use as to if you'd have problems.
With 4 kids you do need space for longer camps than a weekend. My 2 are sharing the 5 berth pod in my tent and by the time they have all their junk in there too it should be just about right for our main 10 day summer hols.

I have a Wynnster mercury 9, I think the quality of Wynster tents is good, my Mercury 9 has stood up to some rough weather with no problem, I found though that big dome tents tend to be very noisy when it is windy, so I have bought a Montana 6 mainly for the sig, I hate draughts.
------------- Do not camp under tree's. ..... one might fall on you!
Not had any problems with any of my 3 tents to complain to customer services about. Have sent a couple of enquiry / suggestion e-mails and they've got back to me and thanked me for my comments and replied to my questions.
Hi we have the antares 17 have not camped in it yet as waiting for school holidays. We were thrilled with it on our practice pitch, super quaility, easy to pitch and similar in size to a small bungalow! lol Me and hubby, 6 kids and mother in law so we like the space. Good luck
I'm on to my second Wynnster after being so impressed by my Buzzard 4, very reliable and still going strong after 5+ years. I only got the Kestrel 5 for a bigger living space. Just looked at the antares 12 on the web, a bit too big for me + sprog but looks amazing! Almost makes me wish I had a big family.
Another vote for the quality of wynnster tents. Our curlew gets used most weekends from March to October and is taking the abuse well! Spares are easy to come by too.
