couple of questions
1 are you supposed toleave the groundsheet attatched
2 there is a pvc black/green groundsheet supplied as well what is it for? the front sloping area or to put under the main groundsheet
3 if the tent is wet can you pack it away regards extra weight/folding and damaging the tent
cheers

Hi there, we've just got back from our third trip in the Norfolk Lake! There's no reason why you can't leave the main groundsheet zipped in, although I personally wouldn't as it would make the tent really heavy and difficult to fold! The second groundsheet (ours is black) is for the porch area. Regarding packing the tent away wet, luckily we haven't had to do it yet, but I would imagine it would make the tent significantly heavier. As long as you unpack and air the tent as soon as you get home it would not cause any damage!

Hope you enjoy your Norfolk Lake!

We had to pack ours away in pouring rain Mayday BH weekend.  Because of the rain the field had turned into a field of mushy sand & rabbit droppings!  We left the zig attached and managed to get it in a couple of bin bags for the journey home.  Having the tent rolled up meant that the inside was absolutely sodden once it was unpacked and the groundsheet had pools of water inside.  It was impossible to pitch as the fabric was so heavy so I had to crawl inside to unzip and remove the groundsheet - got absolutely drenched!

Then pitched the tent to dry out overnight - next day decided to try and find out if it was possible to unzip groundsheet, let down flysheet on top of the groundsheet and then find a way of folding the fly separately having had the benefit of letting it down onto a clean, dry surface.  Just as I was contemplating whether this was possible it started to rain again, so quickly folded as was and carted it all inside as one, almost breaking my back in the process!  I do want to find if there is a way of doing this, as had we taken the groundsheet out first and let the tent down onto the sandy mush the inside of the tent would have got into a right mess!

BTW, even when dry it is nigh on impossible to pitch the tent with the zig attached as it's just too heavy, although I guess if a third person went inside the tent it would be easier as they could support some of the weight while lifting the first pole.
