I asked yesterday about the easy camp cosenza tent. Some one kindly answered my question, but i now have another. I found out that easy camp , yeomans , and outwell are all the same company but most of the topics tonight are about the outwell tents leaking. How good are the other makes, or are they the poor relation.

Hi Barky, no they are not the same company. Outwell make their own tents under the Outwell brand and also Sunncamp brand. Yeomans have tents made by Outwell for them under the Peakland brand. In other words all these tents are made by Outwell and differ in their finish / quality.
Yeomans is a company selling camping equipment. (www.yeomansoutdoors.co.uk). I don't think they make their own tents. Easy camp and Outwells are tent (and other camping equipment) manufacturers.
As far as I can gather from these posts - a great source of information - Easy Camp are good tent, but in general Outwell have the edge. This seems to be the concensus despite Outwell having troubles with leaking tents the last couple of years. I'm about to get the family tent after a 30 year break from camping and am probably going to get an Outwell (Vermont XL), but am still dithering...

I think you mean Outwell & Easycamp.
Sunncamp are owned by Sunflair.

Peakland are Yeomans own brand but are made by Outwell for them. The Peakland tents are mainly re branded and coloured Easycamp tents which again are made by Outwell. The spec of the Peakland and Easycamp tent are lower than the top Outwell tents but not that much lower than the likes of the Outwell Hartford range. Both the Peakland and Easycamp range of tents will be fine for normal summer camping but you may find higher priced tents will offer more features.
First of all, something like 95% of all tents are now made in Chinese factories, so even though the makers name may differ (vango Outwell etc) they may be coming off production lines next to each other. Oase is the name of the company that produces Outwell and Easycamp brands (plus one of the mountaineering type brands but I forget which one it is). Yeomans are a retailing company from my neck of the woods, who now also market their own label of tents, "Peakland" which are made in Chinese factories.
I have had a couple of Peakland tents in the past and have found them okay, but lacking in the kinds of design features that make camping more comfy, like windows, vents etc so I think they are value for money, but not tiptop quality.
