Hi CarrieN, I am also interested in this tent along with the Outwell Georgia xl.  I have recently had some advice from a camping shop, who said that he saw the Coleman Galileo xl at the NEC Birmingham.  Unfortunately it was during fairly high winds and he was not convinced that it was stable enough.  He also stated that he thought that Coleman had gone 'too big' with the Weathermaster range, hence the problem.  Mind you they didn't sell the tent so it may be worth contacting someone who would be more objective.

However I would still like to view this as only seen the L.  Any idea in Oxfordshire/Wiltshire where they display them?

Hope this helps.

Hi Carrie

Very close to buying this model.Search for other posts as there is an  owner of a large posted. Also I have pasted a copy of an e-mail from Colemans.Yes I know its thier tent so they are going to say this but at least got a very quick reponse from them.Hope this helps

Hello Harry,

All of our tents are tested under the harshest conditions. In order to be able to test them under these circumstances we've created a a rain room and a wind tunnel that allow new tent models to be tested during their development.
In addition to that all new models are subjected to long term outdoor testing. This means that a new model, before it goes into production, is pitched outside and stays pitched for a period of several months. During that time the longevity of the tents is tested as well as resistance to UV rays, harsh winds, torrential rains, or whatever weather type is traveling over the area where the tents are pitched.

Also the Gallileo L & XL series are equipped with strong steel pole constructions for extra durability and weather resistance.

Hope this can take some of your concerns away.

best regards
Sundance

Our friends have got the L version, they used it a couple of weeks ago in Norfolk, said it stood up to the bad weather really well.

Hi

Awaiting delivery of the above as I type.  Exchanged it for a leaky Monty 6 and hopefully we will not be dissappointed.  Will be going up in the garden as soon as we get it and then away we go.

Awaiting comments.............

Fiona
