I bought an XL at the weekend. I had been looking at lots of designs, but chose this one due to some of it's great design features (such as the seperate storage area behind the bedrooms etc). I'm a complete newcomer to camping so any comments I make don't come with great experience.
I put it up in my garden as soon as I got it home. The bag its in is well made but the package is very heavy - about half of this weight is the bag containing the poles, if you take this out and move on its own its not too bad. It took about an hour and 15 mins to put up. My teenage daughter , young son and I did the putting up, we have never put up a tent before so it probably took much longer than it would with practise.
The tent seemed like a tardis, the interior seems huge, but its very light and airy.
We tried the tent for a couple of nights, and used the sleeping bags it came with - these were very comfortable, far better quality than I had expected for give aways.
It took about 45 mins to take down and pack up, but again I think we learned a lot that would make this faster in the future.
We are planning to try it "for real" this weekend, but the rain may put a dampner on this idea :(
Initial thoughts then - very well made, easy to put up, great quality of materials used, some inspired design ideas - all in all I'm very pleased so far.

Hi, It's Jonathan, Thanks for your replies. We took the plunge and bought thie XL tent last Friday, went to Aberfoyle and had great weekend. In short the weather was brilliant and the tent even better! The flysheets on front and sides of the living area were priceless in the hot weather and the fact that's it all sewn in, with our small heater at night it kept all the draughts out. The front of the tent opens out with three additional poles and forms a large sun canopy, which , along with the excellent wind break (thats included with the tent) provided a nice area to sit, but will also provide a bit of protection when it's not quite so nice but you still want to sit outside.
The inside is mega spacious, the three bedrooms are all great and we fitted a kingsize airbed/double height in each. The build quality is excellent, first time putting it up, took about 50 minutes but we reckon with practice we could get it up and watertight in 20 if need be! As said by Cobblers the bag is very heavy but it does pack away neatly and for the size of tent and living area you have got to expect this, It is no where near the weight or bulk of a canvas frame tent but gives just as much comfort. Loads of fellow campers with familes came and asked to look in as it does look good, comments were 'nice set up, home from home'.
All in all we are absolutely delighted with this, infact we have changed from caravanning to this as we didn't use the caravan so much (I hated towing and things) we are relieved and pleasantly surprised it's so comfortable. With all of your accessories it really is a home from home. Couple of suggestions; it is a big tent so make sure before you go to a site that it has room. It takes up about the size of a large conway trailer tent, the site we went to said that if it was too large we would be charged two spaces, this did not happen though, look at the measurements before you buy. Also there are only the two of us and our car was jam packed with all the stuff needed, so we are going to invest in a small trailer, if you like your things whilst away or if you have a family you will need to think about this also or perhaps a roof box, as the tent itself does fill a reasonable amount of boot space. thanks and hope this helps!! even if it was a bit rambling!!!
