Help required on deciding which tent to go for, we're going on Friday and have two reserved but don't know which one to have so any help would be very much appreciated!
We require a 2 bedroom tent, with large living area (in case of rain), and can not decide between the Vango Diablo 400 and the Wynnster Mallard 6....anybody with any recomandations?

Just so you don't have a sad face, how many of you are there?
I really like the Diablo's, the porch is very handy if it's horrible weather, and is a good place to leave wellies or wet shoes before coming into the living area. I also like a SIG because I hate the thought of bugs, but lots of people prefer the better ventilation of not having one and the bedrooms are fully enclosed in the Wynnster anyway. The only thing that I can see that's better about the Wynnster is that it pitches fly sheet first - out of the two I'd still go for the Vango though.
We had the Diablo 400 2 years ago and sold it after 2 outings. We found it a major pain to put up due to the 2 very long poles that cross to make the dome of the living area. One of us would have to get inside the tent and hold the dome up while the other struggled with the ring and pins. You do have good living space when it is finally up but the bedrooms were tiny, only just taking a double lilo with whoever is on the inside sleeping with a sloping roof just above their face. The porch was excellent but the front door sloped quite steeply and we could never find a good way of getting into the tent when it was raining without all the water off the door running into the porch. I cant help with the Mallard but it does look a much simpler tent to put up and a more practical tent to use. If you are planning short weekends away then I would avoid the Diablo. Just our feelings after 2 uses. I'm sure there are lots of happy Diablo owners out there.
It is a curious choice you are making, with two very different tents. Personally I had dismissed the Mallard because I could not get double are beds in it. If you don't need them I am sure you will be happy with Wynnster. The other thing you might want to consider is if the Mallard has horizontal storm poles to brace the structure in the event of a bit of wind. I would suspect not because the poles are not of the same size, most of the current Tunnels do!

Can't really help with the decision as I don't know either of the tents .........But we have had a Wynnster for 6 years and it is still going strong. Over the bank holiday weekend when most people on the campsite were struggling with leakages and tents being blown all over the place, we were warm and dry inside ours!
We have the Mallard 6 for 5 of us and its brill! you can get a double air bed in both pods easily but both pods then will only take 2 people (not like the 3 the piccys show) the baby gets in with us lol! We only bought it as a weekender but its sooo easy to put up (we usually have a canvas frame tent) we are going to take it for our main holiday! There is loads of room in the living area too! We all sit on chairs and have a table in there too!!
------------- Always Kate unless Jay is looking over my shoulder :) x
Have you decided yet? The Vango Oregon 600 has a tension band system, which does make it stronger in the winds. This years models have a SIG and it pitches flysheet first. Something else to consider!
