Hi,

New to the forum, had a quick browse and glad i found it!!

In recent yrs used a 4berth Eurohike tunnel.

However i am now looking to get either of the above tents i have no knowledge of either make, however the shadow is £169 and the ontario is £189

Would really appreciate any user opinion of these or the makes in general.  The new tent materials seem very thin compared to our old tent!

One main difference is one has a Sig (ontario) the other doesnt, thing is ive never had a tent with a sig before, my concerns are the dog may rip it!! and we store bikes in the tent so again may cause damage.  Lastly the ones i saw on display seemed to act like a paddling pool as any water that got in couldnt get out!!  I realise this doesnt happen when the doors are shut (show left them open in downpour!) but obviously wet shoes and dog could equal a nice muddy mess!!  in the past is the tent got muddy inside we would take out the groundsheet and let it dry in the sun.

Has anyone with a sig found it to be a problem ie easily damaged? or are they ok to live with? as it cant be easily replaced this concerns me!

thanks!

I wouldn`t be that happy about the combination of SIG and bikes, to be honest. (I`m a bikie so no bias against bikes here!) Bikes can be wet and greasy objects, so better on bare grass.

But I`ve seen the Shadow up and I wasn`t that impressed, to be honest. The fabric seemed very thin to me as well, and I`m used to synthetic canvas. I`d rather have this tent, the Vango Wyoming. You could leave out one pod and take the bikes in and out the end door. The groundsheet only covers the living area, so you`d have bare grass to stand the bikes on.
