Hi, newbie here so sorry if the questions are daft!

We've got a 3 man tent at the moment, but a child on the way and 2 dogs we're wanting to buy a 6 man tent and like the look of the Coleman Wyoming.  2 questions really:-

1) How easy is it to put up (there will be 2 adults to do it) and roughly how long will it take after we've practised a few times?

2) Is the size ok for most sites?  With the pods at the back it is 7.8m wide and 4.56 deep.  We really don't want to pay for 2 pitches!

Are there any issues with this tent we should be aware of?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

P.S. We also quite like the Khyam Indiana 6 man - so views on that would also be very welcome.

Hi,

Some relevant info for the Coleman Wyoming 6:-

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=32&TopicID=108035&PagePosition=3

With 2 adults it shouldn't take too long, but you DO need 2. I did manage to put mine up alone the first time on a very still day in the garden, and it took me about an hour - with 2 of you it should be about 30-40 mins fully set up I'd have thought.

It's a wide tent, certainly. I've only pitched mine at 1 campsite and it wasn't a problem there, but at others it might be: there's a topic in the forums about sites and large tents. There's no SIG, and the AirFlo system (for which read, the flysheet around the bedroom pods doesn't touch the floor) can mean the tent is a bit draughty when it's windy - helps with condensation of course, but something to be aware of.

I'm pleased with mine - I like the space and the ventilation, but I agree the size is a bit of a concern. With hindsight, I might have gone for a tunnel tent with SIG had I not conned myself into thinking I'd be able to put it (the Wyoming) up by myself.

Cheers, Simon

Thanks Simon!  We've rung the 2 sites we've booked into this summer (neither C & CC) and both were a bit hesitant, but said the wyoming should be ok, just!

Thanks Hellen.  The Columbus looks good on the web, but I can't find one up to look at anywhere.  So, we've taken the plunge - just bought a Vango Colordo 600.

Thanks

Sam

We have the Wyoming 6 and can get it up in about 15-20 mins (2 man job). We have never had any problems with draughts even when we had 10 of us sleeping in it in a storm!!!!
