Hi everybody,

I'm a newbie to the forum  -  but not to camping.  We've been using Vango Force 10 tents for 35 years and I really like the cotton experience - cool in the Med, warm in the Alps.  However, as the years creep by it would be nice to have a tent that you can sit in comfortably with a chair or two. Can anyone give advice on a good quality cotton tent? I have read some threads on the Outwell Bear Lake and it sounds good but is a bit large for two people.  Has anyone tried the Trout Lake?  Any advice would be welcome.

Hi there

The Bear Lake 4 is a bit smaller than the 6, and remember you can also remove the front canopy if you want the tent to be smaller - it just zips off.

Hi Roy, and welcome to the site!

Thread title says you are asking about polycotton, then content mentions cotton canvas.

If you fancy an excellent quality cotton canvas tent, suitable for two, then look no further than the Cabanon Guadeloupe; easy and quick to pitch, strong, warm and comfortable, a good size but not a huge footprint, good headroom and with a lovely 'feel' about it. (Pics in my gallery might give a bit of an idea.)

Best of luck, whatever you decide.

Hi..
We were in exactly the same frame of mind as you. We have camped for many years in small lightweight tents & wanted a quality polycotton tent which was large enough to sit & stand up in & not too big & heavy. We also wanted a tent that was quick to put up. In the end we bought a Nomad Masai 2..bit more expensive but beautifully made & very waterproof!
Best of luck & happy camping.
