Hi, we posted this a few days ago but in the wrong section we think! :) so are trying again here in what seems like a better place for it.

We've been wanting to buy this tent (as the XL air version)(link below) for a couple of months after seeing the smaller version up briefly. Today we went to Decathlon and the regular sized 6.2 was up again.

The top of the tent has a 2 large mesh panels, perhaps about 12sq foot each, both of which are covered with a loose fabric cover, suspended about 4cm higher at the sides. The are designed for ventilation, but they look as if they are likely to make the tent very cold at night.

We really like the tent other than this, and so wonder if anyone has this tent and can tell us how much heat is lost through the roof vents, or whether anyone could confirm that it likely to make it very cold?

Thanks

Steve

Hi there,

Dont worry at all I have the 6.2 XL air and its fine. You dont really lose any heat as such through the vents. Most of the quechua range have this feature and its a real benefit. You wont lose any extra heat than you would in a tent anyway. Go for the XL air if you havent already got it. Its only another 50 quid than th xl and well worth it. Decathlon at Merry Hill will get one in for you in about  week if they dont have it in stock.

Thanks very much - it's really pleasing to hear that! In fact we're planning to go for the XM air, as I like the idea of the screens, and the mesh flaps down the side - not to mention the extra space...

We won't be buying it until mid July - but are very much looking forward to it...

Cheers

Steve

Hi

I found this forum searching on the web for some info about this tent.

I have just bought it and tomorrow I'm off for 12 days of camping with it, if I find some problems with this tent I'll post it here, but I really don't think so as I have had other tents from Quechua and never had any problem.

Best regards

Thomas
