we liked the vermont xl but couldnt really justify the extra money for it, its a total change from the origonal plan of the Killington 900, but we are happy with it,
i cant wait for it to arrive so we can test it out,

I really wanted one of those becuse i thought the layout was just what we needed, but i settled for a montana 6 instead, hope everything goes well with yours.
Very interested to hear how you have got on with your new SV8? I have been researching to death and decided on the SV8 for family of 2+2 but was wondering about the bad press; lack of stability in wind due to position of guy ropes, tendency of poles to break, some problems with zips etc.
Do let me know if you have managed a trial erection and if you are happy, any post purchase regrets etc? Many thanks Harvey
We bought an SV8 a couple of weeks ago and went away for the weekend in it last week. We had a couple of leeks on the side doors, leaving us with about a pint of water on the floor each morning. Also had condensation running off the inside of the tent down the sides of the bedrooms and underneath, leading to damp coming up onto sleeping mats etc. Very dissapointed given the amount of time I spent researching the tent and the final cost. I wish I had read some of the posts on here first. Friends had a new Vango Diablo 600 with them and although I did not like the inner pitch first design, they had no leaks/damp at all.
The supplier has suggested that we erect the tent in the garden and test it again, with a view to exchange or refund if the problem persists.
The first time we used our SV8, we had condensation. The second time, we made sure that the rear windows were open and guyed, and that the vents above all the interior windows were propped open - no condensation at all, even with five warm bodies who all insisted on breathing all night.
We also had small leaks on the side doors, coming from where the door zip starts, where about four layers of material are all joined together. Five minutes with seam sealer - fixed.
Hope this helps.

IT'S HEAVEN AND HELL!!!!!!
Thanks - that's cheered me up a bit. That's the exact pace where we are having leaks, so I'll try the seam sealer this weekend. I did have the rear vents open, but not the side vents. Will try this as well. Thanks again!
