having bought a tent which turned out to be faulty I am now on the hunt again (aaarrrrrgh!!!)
looking at the wynnster orion 6 or phoenix 6 at the moment - what are the main differences that anyone can see? anyone know where I might see them up this weekend, close to London?
we want a sig, porch, light interior with clear windows, sleep 4 PLUS , two bedrooms ideally together so we can have th e kids next to us while they are little, easy to put up would be really fab. Good bedroom height also helpful. Oh and don't want anything with a huge footprint that might make two pitches necessary
(someone else recommended the khyam ontario 6 or 8 which does tick all the boxes except for the porch)
oh, and can anyone tell me whether the wynnster tents have lots of neon stuff going on inside - that was the one thing I REALLY disliked about the other tent - it made me feel like I was clubbing in the 80s (NOT GOOD!)
sorry for bombardment of questions, really just want to order it this weekend as we are off camping again in a couple of weeks
THANKS

Hi, I can't help with either of these tents but I do have a Wynnster (Kestrel 5) and it is well made and sturdy, we are very pleased. No neon either.....
Wynnsters are great tents, I'm on my second only because I wanted something bigger. The Buzzard has lasted over 5 years and still going strong - windows still clear!
We have the Orion 6 and we're well pleased with it. We bought it for the same reason as you - to have the bedrooms next to each other with small children. You can separate them, or just undo the zip and have one large cosy family room.
We used it a few weeks ago at a very wet Welsh campsite, in the heaviest rain I have ever camped in. It stood up brilliantly, not a leak from anywhere. We camped in a bad place in a slight hollow and ended up with a 6' wide and 4" deep puddle UNDER our tent. I was quite tempted to sleep on it like a water bed! But the water never penetrated.
The clear windows are lovely, and being able to have just the windows open without the doors as well was really nice.

was just about to click and buy and am now deliberating between the orion 5 and 6
how many of you were in the 6? I'm wondering whether the 5 mightn't be big enough for us (4 of us, but LOTS of stuff, espacially if we go away for a couple of weeks as we'd like to next year)
have you compared the sizes of the 5 and 6 at all? how did the living area in the 6 feel (esp when cooped up in the rain)
