I have just started camping after a 15 year break, dug out the old cabanon paris from the attic where it had been stored and had a brilliant weekend away. Amazed the tent is still in such great nick, I am now hooked again.
The Cabanon is great for a week or so away but need a quick erect tent which still has some room for the weekends i am planning, a 3 man tent will fit the bill size wise for the 2 of us. Has anyone got any comments on the Khyam Freelander which has been mentioned to me by a friend.

I have a Khyam and love it, they are so well made, will withstand the worst of the british weather, and are quick and easy to pitch, would highly reccomend.

We use our VV500 for weekend breaks. Although its a 4/5 berth we find that the extra room is just about enough for 2 of us . The tent is easy to pitch in about 20mins for 2 of us and the porch area is great to sit in and watch what else is going on on site.

I have 3 cabanons and 2 are ideal for weekends,Both my Laguana and Montreal can be up and pegged in under 30 mins and still give us space. There are a number cabanon 2-4 berths on ebay being sold for less than £100.
The number of posts about modern tents and broken poles has convinced me to stick with Cabanons.
The Freelander is just about big enough for two, but when I was looking for a weekend tent some years ago when it was first out, I was a bit put off that the bedroom is black, and it seemed to taper towards the back, so I was not sure that our Coleman Comfort airbed would fit across the width.
The built quality of Khyams is fine though ( I have just sold on our Conquest 400 which we had been very happy with).
Thanks for the replies all, am off to Cornwall in the Cabanon to Kenneggy Cove this week. The rain we are having at moment should test the old tent. Will have a look around for the new one when i get back.
Glad i found this site, so many useful threads

I have the outwell arizona L, very pleased with it. 2 out of the 3 weekends i've used it have been very wet (one was bank holiday Sunday + Monday 39 hours continous rain :0( ) not a drop of water in it. plenty of room for a couple of chairs and a small table.
