It really depends what use you put the tent too\and how many people will be using the tent. I have a VV500 and it is great for me and the OH or on the odd occassion when one of our kids comes away with us for the weekend. However I would not like to use it for anything other than weekends as there is really not enough room.

Totally agree with Nigel here - I have 3 tents - a Montana for the family week long + holidays, A Gelert Colima 3 TD for the weekend use and a Gelert Beaver Creek 3 which I am getting rid of now the kids are older - When I look for a tent I ask myself a set of questions and then compare answers so that I get a tent that is for my needs and not because it looks good and I really want it - I suffer with bad tent envy - I see something I want it but have to be practical so I just look and bubble inside lol

sorry about that..we want a tent 4/5 people with 2 sleeping compartments but mainly for the two of us for weekend camping. We also require plenty of living space inside when it rains and to be able to stand up inside the whole of the tent. the living space will now and again be used for four adults + dog...

Hi Scooby, can't really comment on your tent choice (although Vango and Khyam are considered better quality I think), but wanted to say hello to a fellow Torquinian (think I made that up). I grew up there and all my family are still there - will be visiting in a couple of weeks, so I hope the sun starts shining. And welcome to UKCS!
Dont be fooled by the adverts that say that the tent is a 6 berth etc. manufacturers work on roughly 70cm per person so a double is 140cm and a triple like our Monty is 210cm. Unfortunately a single airbed is 80cm + so even if you could squeeze a couple of these into a double room there would be no other standing room or anywhere for even a minor amount of kit. I like the look of the new Vango Breckenridge because the double bedrooms are actually 180cm so there is a litte more room than others( and there are 3 of them)

hi after much searching and umming and ahing we were going to buy outwell nebraska xxl but then read so many reviews about leaking decided on the sunncamp family vario 900 plus this has two pods on the side which you can take if you want more room and sleep two in each plus a large double and small double room inthe tunnel tent part. It has lovely large windows with curtains, skylights tie back pocket holds and built in ground sheet. This will easily sleep 8-9 but does not take up as much room as the huge dome tents. The "lounge" area is approx 12 x 12 square and loads of room for a huge family and hangers on. We spent years (it seems like) looking at many different makes and models and nearly purchase a kyham nebraska but this did not have proper built in ground sheet.
We pitched the sunncamp at weekend and me and hubby took one hour and 20 mins the bags that it comes in are well in excess of the size of the tent so no huffing and puffing trying to roll up to size. Hubby is 6 6" and still has plenty of headroom and legroom when laying down.
Cost £383 but found a site doig for £299 this month take a look I promise you will not be disappointed.
