Hi there!

Just looking for some advice, I'm a single traveller looking at buying a tent and giving it a go etc. I don't drive so I've been looking at lightweight tents and came across these two on one website pretty cheaply.

The pack weight of the 100 is only 1kg or 1.4kg PW for the 200, which seems fairly doable, they both seem to sound fairly transportable - pack size for the 100 is 48x9cm and 49x10cm for the 200.  At £99.79 and £113.36 respectively they both sound great.

The only thing is, measurements on a screen are one thing, but knowing what its like from the inside is another! So thats why I'm here...has anyone used either one of these backpacking tents, or have any information regarding them.

Failing the above does anyone have any other recommendations for affordable backpacking tents? I don't really need to go above a 2man obviously, I'm camping alone or maybe with a dog one day, but tbh he folds up fairly small when he sleeps anyway so I'm not concerned by him. Would anyone recommend however a 2man over a 1 anyway? How do they compare against each other?

Lots of questions lol, now time for lots of answers lol...the cheek of me!!

Hi Naomi   I've never seen either tent in the flesh, but my advice in general would be to go for the 2 berth. It's only 0.4kg heavier, but it will give you space to store your clothes, toiletries, towels and boots and rucksack. Most manufacturers seem to consider a 'berth' as being just enough space to sleep on a narrow foam mat or self-inflating matress - no space allowed at all for your belongings, and if you're backpacking this will be important as you obviously can't store your clothes etc. in the car boot.

Cheers Jean,

I was leaning towards the 2berth tbh, it has this little "fin" as they call it at the end that can be used for somewhere to cook as well that the 1berth doesn't have..could be handy for stinky boots too lol!!

Thanks for the reply, question still open to all though if anyone has got any more tips and advice!!!
