Hi, I am having real trouble trying to decide which to go for out of the Georgia xl or the Coleman Galileo xl. I love the look of the Georgia and the porch is great. It also has added features such as carpet etc. At the same time I like the practicality of the Galileo with the built in windbreak which creates an instant outside area for a table and somewhere to do the cooking.
I would appreciate as many views and opinions as possible as I am not a very decisive person and its starting to give me a headache!!!!!!
Thanks all.

We have the Outwell Georgia XL and it is a superb tent.
I find the design great and the tent feels light and airy, but cosy at the same time.
Initially, we didn't want an inner up first tent, but I don't find this an issue with the Georgia. The features, style and design far outweigh the only niggle of inner up first.
I have seen and walked round a display model and its definately light and airy. The only thing that concerns me would be where to create an 'outside space' for a table etc. I love the tent but the Galileo has that outside bit although I am not so keen on the tent itself. I don't know which I would find more important as we are not yet experienced campers.
I am in the same position cant decide between the Coleman or the sunvalley 8.the Galileo xl is a very nice looking tent with the bedrooms separate there is the option to remove the middle one. You can also buy an additional bedroom for the other side. My concern is the pods are only 210cm long where the Sun Valley is 225 not much longer but when you are over 6 ft it make all the difference. I have also seen the Galileo L with an Outwell carpet for a montanana and was not a bad fit so on the XL it would have a gap of about 10inches down the side. There are other posts on the Galileo so if you read them it may help. Looks very easy to pitch. Probably just confused you more but I know how you feel this is my last week for making my decision so running out of time fast.

Luckily I am not in any immediate hurry to make a decision. I was wondering about a carpet to fit the Coleman so thats great to know. Hoping not to confuse you even more, have you considered the Georgia xl? The big bedroom at the back is 225 x 250 so you would have plenty of room to sleep sideways. Its very difficult deciding between two so very differently laid out tents, to know how you would use the space expecially when you are talking of £300 - £400 pounds. Knowing me I would decide on one, then wish I had bought the other!!!
I have thought about the Georgia L however I decided I would like to have the option of having the extra bedroom for when my middle child decides that he doesn't want to share with his younger sister!
Can anyone tell me who been camping in a Georgia XL where a table and chairs could be put and where you do the cooking please? Struggling a bit with that one.
Also does anyone know of a tent display showing the Galileo XL in Oxfordshire or Wiltshire? I have seen the L but as far as the dimensions go the XL is considerably bigger.
Thanks

Hi Sueg2, if you do choose the Georgia XL shortly, give crosscamping a call as they have a limited few not displayed on their website at a very good price.
We have the georgia xl and love it. When i mentioned to my wife about selling our house and living in the georgia all year round she just glared at me. We had 8 people sitting around a table in the tent last year and it still felt very spacious. My only moan about the tent is the fact that when people walk past thay tend to stop and stare in admiration and jealousy! it's nice at first but eventually it gets boring. We usually cook at the front or round the side. there is still plenty of room and probably we will buy the matching wind break this year.
Well, we took the plunge and got a great end of season deal on a Georgia xl. Good job as I have read some horrendous roof leakage problems on the Galileo! We put it up in the garden and have to agree, its a fantastic tent, although let me think.. house..tent...house..tent (I'm afraid I can appreciate your wife's glare)!!
We are also thinking of a windbreak but I have heard they are a nightmare to keep up, still we will give it a go! Taking the 2nd home to Devon this summer so will be using it for the first time. Let's just hope that its not windy and we don't end up making ourselves look stupid trying to get the flysheet on!
