Just ordered a Coleman Darwin 5 from Home Counties Camping Centre HCCC.co.uk. 214.99 with a free Coleman Lantern and Double Sleeping Bag.  Looking forward to being able to stand upright in the whole tent and not just in the middle.  I am going to Blue Dolphin in Filey on 7 July for 7 nights with my 3 children.

I will let you know how it goes.

I was not happy with my Auckland 5 last year as it was too draughty.

Hope your tent is good we have a tunnel and can stand up all the way thru its great no stooping.

We went to blue dolphin at filey my 3 had a great time there just make sure they pitch you around the edges or to the back but not where you drive in as it has a dip and if it rains can flood.

Just back from a week at Blue Dolphin, Filey.  Coleman Darwin 5 was excellent.  Plenty of room for 1 adult and 3 kids (7,9,12).  Only had a slight leak on the Friday night but to be fair it was pelting down and a gale force wind.  Top tips from this site were to take door mats (superb stopped entrance from getting muddy, sofa bed was excellent.  Put the sofa up during the day in the larger of the two sleeping areas.  Had to cook in the living area but I opened up the side door weather permitting and it was great.

Back now and cleaning the mud off of the tent.

Only drawback for me was the weight with it all together.  Packing it with everything separate too make it easier to pack and to carry.

Hopefully will get a few nice days in August to use it again.

Just purchased Cloeman Darwin 5. Practice run through in garden last night - fab tent! Only thing is when we were putting it up it proved rather difficult to get poles in eyelets, we rang Yeomans and they suggested not following the order on the instructions so we started from porch area - how did you get on? We also broke the silver pole (this was the recommended starting pole) ! Do you have any other tips and is it better to detach the inner next time.

I followed the instructions in the bag but I put all the poles in before trying to erect the tent as then the seams were all more or less straight.  You really need the red side ones up first then the rest.  I found it easier to take the bedrooms out as I took them out when taking the tent down and it was so much easier to put up for cleaning.

If you find an easier way to pitch let me know.

i have used my darwin 5, 6 times now and we think we have it sorted, start at the porch end, then work back, we put the red ones in last this last time, but it needs 2 adults as you have to bend as you go, but with the inners already there, its up in 10 minutes.

if you put the red ones in first you have to try to bend the polesging across and access is difficult as you don't want to stand on it, whereas you can get to the full length of the red ones from the grass.
