I'm a relativ novice - but a zipped groundsheet seems to me to have the benefit of a sewn-in-groundsheet and a separate one. Zip a ZG in and its weather tight. Unzip it and its like a separate groundsheet.
The advantage must be that you can store them separately - and hence the weight of each bit is less (tent, groundsheet separate versus tent+groundsheet together).
so I would guess a ZG is better.
Don't know if this is it, but it's my best guess.
