Please can soemone help, I am looking at the 2007 Vango Oregon (online as no-one seems to have it on show around Bristol) and after seeing a friends 2005 model I really think it is what I need (my current Vango is getting a bit too worn out).
I love the idea of windows and skylights but it looks like the door is now D shaped rather than a traditional 2 zip affair. Can someone confirm if there is also a zip opening the other side, I have the catalogue but it doesn't say. I know it can be opened at the end but I will need both bedrooms to stay in place.
I want to be able to open the side as a makeshift awning/shelter so a D shaped door just wont do.
I've also read a load of posts about this tent and the lack of 'add on' awning - if anyone has added the Coleman or Khyam ones to it pleae let me know if it was successful.
Many thanks,

We've just bought a 2007 Oregon but haven't been able to put it up yet. I did see one on display a month or so ago and I think there is another door opposite the one at the side but presume they're both D shaped. It seems that they've added a SIG but removed the facility to pole the door open. Looking at the weather forecast I hope we'll be able to put it up midweek if you can wait that long,
Piglet - good isea, I've just got home from goint to the Almondsbury Blacks/Millets tent show but unfortunately they had a very limited choice. We sped up the M5 to Attwoolls but they were closed :-(
Never been to Highbridge Camping, is it a big place and worth the trip (we are 15 miles North of Bristol).

Highbridge is well worth a trip, there is Highbridge Caravans and Camping (turn left at the roundabout off the M5 and its about half a mile) and then Taunton Leisure have a biggish display at Saunders Garden Centre at Highbridge (turn right at the roundabout off the M5 and it's about a mile or so).
You can do both sites at the same time, give Highbridge a ring about the Oregon but I'm pretty sure they've got one.
You cannot peg the side door open it is a D shape but you can peg the end out. There are add on canopies you can add to it from Outwell, Khyam and Coleman but the ones from Vango do not fit.
Piglet - I rang Highbridge but the 800 you saw has been sold and they have put up something else in it's place. They have a 600 but I'd rather see the real thing before purchasing. Thanks for your help, I will definately be having a look down there and Taunton Leisure when next going south on the M5.

There is no overall design difference between the 800 and 600, the only difference is the 800 has two pods that divide up making 4 bedrooms and the 600 only has one divided pod and one double pod - but it will still give you the layout of the tent. We used ours this weekend (we have a 600) in the monsoon and it stood up very well, one or two tiny leaks after about 7 hours of non stop rain which I'm not going to complain about. On sunday with the normal summer showers it was absolutely fine.
We used the D shaped door and we will now be looking at getting a canopy for the tent as it was a bit of a pain having to cook in the tent in wet weather.
Hope this helps, if you have any other questions do shout
I went on a tent search today :-) Saw the 600, very nice but too small, I think the 800 would also be a bit of a sqeeze (about the same as my current tent I am guessing which we want to upgrade from). When I started looking I thought the Oregan was the same as a mate has got - he now tells me that his is a Vista which is much bigger (and discontinued).
Saw a Kyham Indiana 8, which was OK and gave me the idea of the Ontario, was overwhelmed by some of the Outwells and then went up to see some home branded ones at Attwolls. Been a busy day.
Now considering if a tunnel tent is my best bet, crikey this is confusing.

Do you know if they had Outwell Vermont M on show? Hoping to go to see it at the Exeter show, but waiting confirmation that there will be one there.
