Just returned from lovely camping trip with the children and new monty. Weather really wet and tent leaked. Again by the bedroom pods and also porch door area. Really, where the stress points are in the tent(which also seem to be lifting up in places) Real shame !Great sized tent, easy to put up and down. We will be talking to the retailer    'yeomans'

Just returned from a very wet weekend camping in Wales in my new Montana 6. I love this tent but it leaked where the bedroom is attached, leaving pools of water on the floor. I had a pitch with power this time and it's a bit worrying when you find pools of water on the floor where the power lead comes in !. It also leaked around a window and the floor of the bedroom was wet aswell. It's off to the retailer tomorrow(Yeomans). Surely they don't have to have the tent inspected do they?. I'd like a replacement. I have another trip booked next week and fancy a roof over my head.

Please stop now!  I only bought my monty 6 yesterday!  Ive had it up in the garden today and it was drizzling all seemed fine.  I also put the hose on it and gave it a good blasting around all the seams and everything seemed ok.  I am going away in it for the weekend and will be praying now that it doesnt leak.

We've just returned from a very wet week in Somerset. It rained every night, and every day with a few bright spells here and there.

No leaks what so ever, well, some dampness around the side canopy door, but I would say it had not leaked at all.

Ours is a 2007 Montana 6 model.

I wonder if the leakers have stretched/stressed their seams during the erecting of the tent as I noticed how easy it was to put too much strain on the fabric when it was being put up if the inside wasn't "inflated" first.

Hi,  Also a very very disappointed (2007) Monty 6 purchaser.  First one purchased July 07 from Complete Outdoors and leaked very badly with the first drop of rain.  They were great and replaced straight away.  Just got back from hols and second tent even worse.  leaked like a sieve, especially around seams to attached ground sheet.  Not just drops of water we were looking a pools a few cms deep. We even found a toad had come in to make it his home. I have pic to prove it.

Spoke to other people on the camp site who were also experiencing the same problem and the rain was not that bad. 

I think Outwell have got a very serious quality problems, perhaps because tents have become so popular they just cannot keep quality control to standard.  I am sending my tent back and asking for my money back and will wait until next year to see if they can sort it out.  Also plan to write to outwell in Denmark.  Can't understand why they go to all the trouble of making a tent with a 5000 HH when the seams leak so badly.   So disappointed as the tent itself is a great design and the carpet was fantastic. Fortunately so, as the water runs underneath it and keeps the stuff on top dry.

As the saying goes, I wouldn't let a few rotten apples spoil the whole barrel. I dare say there are hundreds, if not more, entirely satisified Montana 6 owners - myself being one of them.

It's camping at the end of the day and if it's raining then it isn't camping weather.

Personally, I can't get over how great the tent is. The space it provides is excellent, the accessories are excellent, it's been well thought about with its design and we simply love ours.

JUst got back from our first camping trip and we love the TEnt,luckily it didnt rain so hasnt really been tested yet.We r hoping to go on another trip before it gets very cold.

Personally speaking, if my Monty 6 had that little blob of water after any sort of rain I'd simply apply seam sealent to it and enjoy my camping holiday.

I don't imagine seam sealent lasts for too long before the seal breaks down so I'd expect to redo it every so often. When I paint my door I don't expect the paint to stay perfect forever.

If it was defective in any other way I'd return it to the dealer, bent pole, misaligned stitching, etc.

I have had my Montana 6 for about a year now but only ever put it up in the back garden till 2 weeks ago. being in Scotland the first couple of days were scorching but the on the Sat/Sun it poured down from evening till we had to pack it away (wet). We experienced no leeks in the Sat evening through till we packed it away on Sun midday.

Small question for all you experts, with packing the tent away wet and not getting a chance to erect it top dry for a couple of days it seems to have small spots of mould on the bedroom canopy? Can you remove the bedrooms and put them in the washing machine on a cold wash cylcle to remove these or does anyone have a better idea??
