Hello,
At present we have two Vango Delta 300's, but it time to up grade - so we can share one tent, have more protection from the weather and more indoor space.
So we're looking for a family backpacking tent for 2 adults, 3 children and sometimes our dog too (medium sized).
Yes there are some out there, if we're prepared to compromise and we are for the right tent.
We'd really appreciate any recomendations based on personal experience.
Here's our wish list:
Weight - under 9kg, preferably 6-7kg
Five berth
2 Compartments/bedrooms would be nice, but not essential
Entrance porch/vestible
For Muddy and wet clothes and shoes
Seperate day time space would be good byt not eseential
Wind and rain proof - 3 season preferably
we camp from late May to early September, but always seem to get heavy wind and rain even in mid Summer!
Outer pitch first prefered too.
Budget - up to £350.00 for the right tent.
We are looking at a Mountain Hardware Casa 6 (5.6kg & £350) - but they seem to be out of stock till September!
Anyone know where we can get one?
And has anyone experience of them?
Or can anyone recommend something similar below 9kg, we could increase the budget for the right tent?
We've also looked at Wynnster Shrike 5 Tent - SS07 and Coleman Traiblazer 5, so any experience of how they cope with wind, rain and family use would be good.
