Hi,

We are going to a festival and are looking for our first tent but have no idea where to start.

We want a tent that will be suitable for festivals and is easy to erect as well as having the option of a bit of space (second room or porch/canopy)or inviting other people to come with us if we decide to use it at camping sites as well as festivals. Ideally we would like to get an inflatable mattress in it and want it to be as safe from theives as possible but not with too many fixings/strings that are hard to put up or that i will trip over!!!

Not asking for much am i? Our budget is no more than £100. Please help......please? :-)

Thanks

Sal.

The Lichfield Cherokee has a large porch area and mine cost me £60 (for a 3 man version). The sleeping area has more than enough space for a double/couple of single airbeds. Takes me about 15 minutes to put up on my own.

Alternately the Quechua Pop Up tents literally take seconds to put up!

Bought my 16 year old daughter a Vango Delta 400 from Milletts tent show for £40.  Ex display model, unpitched model=£45.  This has a porch/storage area back and front of tent. Bedroom/living pod large enough for 2 singles or a double. They also had Vango Delta 300 on display, smaller and a fiver cheaper. Daughter really impressed with hers, she's got pitching down to less than 15 minutes- and she's made a do-it yourself footprint from tarp to protect it!

Sal,

I would suggest looking around some of the camping shows or local tent shops. It will give you a good idea of the type of thing you would like - height, weight, colour (my wife bought our first tent based on colour) size and price.

Personally, I like the Vango tents as they are good quality, proven and value for money.

My gallery shows a Vango Venture 500. I can get 2 adults and 2 kids (a bit of a squeeze!) and it has a reasonable sized porch area. Takes about 20 minutes to put the tent up and another half hour to unpack the rest of the junk! Cost me about £80.

There are loads of good tents out their and I think it is all down to personal choice and budget. Good luck.
