Hi,

I have only just joined but have been using this fab site since March when we started camping. We have been having really bad luck with the tents. First a Gelert that was faulty, then a Killington. Now we are just not sure what to go for and I wondered if anyone could help?

We really like the look of either the Outwell Nebraska or Vermont ranges but can't make up our minds.  or are there any other makes we are missing??

There is me , my husband and our 7 year old son, oh and two large dogs. We also have two friends and thier son coming camping with us in Aug ( already booked before the tent went back).

Any help or advise would be great

Thank you

Hi just wondering what the problem was with the killington? We`re looking for a tent and were thinking about the diablo or killington!

The Killington 600 & 900 had a fault on the seams and where all recalled ( Look on the Vango website there is a message on the right - I think) . Apart from that they where a great tent, lots of room you could stand in part of the Bedrooms really loved it. The only reason we went for that one over the Diablo was that you pitched the outer first on the Killington. As they take about 50mins to put up we did not want to run the risk of getting an inner -first wet.

Not sure if that helps you?

The Outwell Nebraska XL has has numerous problems with leaking seams (we returned ours which leaked on every seam) but it promises to be a good tent if you get a good un', but sadly the bad ones appear to out number the non- leakers. If you search the Nebraska XL on this forum, you will see that it has had a lot of press!!

We chanced it and stuck with Outwell, but opted for the Georgia XL. This is similar to the Vango Diablo 900, in size and pitches inner first.

We were gonna go for the Kilington 900 (prior to it's recall from Vango) but having seen it at a show, we thought that it's quality was poor, a far cry from the Diablo 900.

Initially, we wanted a fly first pitch, but are more than happy with the comprimise, with the Georgia XL, of inner first as the tent is fab.

Good luck

Believe that the inner tent on the new diabos are water-proof (well to a certain extent)

We bought a Diablo 900XP in March as we thought the extra insulation properties of a Inner tent outweighed the the need to pitch flysheet first. We love the design and quality.

We went camping with it at the fateful Late May B/H weekend in Dorset and the tent stood up to the torrential rain without batting an eyelid even to the extent that it was standing in at least an inch of water (waterlogged pitch) for much of the Sunday night without leaking !!!

When packing the tent away whilst raining the next morning, the inner got absolutely soaked, so we stuffed the whole tent into a couple of black sacks. To its credit when we pitched it in our back garden to dry it out it did so very quickly.

So, all in all, I would heartily recomend the Diablo, especially as it's not had any of the reported faults that it's sister tent, the killington has had.
