Hi evryone, hoping you can help!!! I bought a tent recently from Tentastic which was a Leben Aachen 6 which buckled at the slightest bit of wind and leaked through the velcro window seems and also the fibre glass pole broke in as I say not very strong wind. However Tentastic have so far been great arranged for courier to collect for a refund so will keep you informed on that.
Anyway we now need a new tent, we are a family of 5 and to be honeast I have been looking at 10-12 man tents as my children are all under 4 so lots of space in case of bad weather. I want one that obviously does not leak and can withstand bad weather, I was looking at the Sunncamp Manta Large Dome Tent Sleeps 16 people due to the Sunncamp good name and the 5 year guarantee on poles etc. But I think it maybe a bit large for just the 2 of us to put up. The other one I am looking at is from an ebay store called Ridgeway and the tent is a

does anyone have any ideas about these 2 tents or any others you can recommend please

My own preference is for a good solid frame tent if you have the space to store and transport it and can manage the weight. I know they are not everyone's cup of tea and they seem to be going a bit out of fashion, and at the end of the day you have to make your own choice, but have a look at something like a Sunncamp Grange. It will stay up in pretty much any weather and keep you dry and give you lots of space for the children to play, and it will last you until your children are well into their teens and want their own tents
i would recommend the vango aspen 700dlx - very stable due to the steel frame, double skinned with a SIG so nice and cosy. has a large living space and porch and 3 good sized bedrooms (or you can remove the divider to make 2 bedrooms - the larger of which would sleep all of you if you like to have kids in with you, leaving the small room for storage). full head height throughout, it's a big tent, quite heavy but 2 can pitch it...for a big tent it doesn't have a huge footprint like some of the pod tents, beware of the footprint sizes when selecting your tent as some campsites have a limit to pitch sizes. Take a look at the link which is the 2006 model - good price, this years model is same size but more expensive, the 2006 model has the porch door which can be raised as a canopy - I don't think you can do this with the new model.
i also bought a tent of ebay last year and didnt really know what i was looking at so ended up with one that was ok but let the rain in and was not that great. i've been spending ages the last few days reading all info on this forum and looking about and decided a sig is a must and liked the look of a gelert one at the last site we went to. have pretty much decided on the gelert tahoma 9+, its got 3 big bedrooms, sig and looks fab and spacious. plus a great price
