Hi, this is my first time on the site. Am thinking of buying a new tent and have been looking at the Vango diablo 600 xp. Unfortunately haven't seen one erected yet. Anyone know anywhere near Derbyshire where they have one? I've seen the Outwell Hartford XL and although the Diablo has 1 less bedroom and a bigger porch, I'm guessing they are pretty similar. If anybody has one or can give any info on the Diablo 600, would appreciate it before I go and get one.
Cheers

I have the 900xp (exactly the same apart from the extra pod) and it is a really good quality tent - loads of room, good ventilation, very easy to live in for long periods. Can't recommend highly enough.

Fantastic, thanks for the info. Guess I will be heading off to Lichfield this weekend then!
Just a couple of questions - don't suppose any of you know if the rear entry door has a window or not? And does it have storage pockets in the bedrooms like the Hartford does? I know I can look for myself at the weekend, but I can't wait that long....

On the 900 it doesn't - has a ventilation 'window', but no clear plastic. Ours has (I think) four pockets in each bedroom. Plus loads of bigger pockets in the main part of the tent.

We've just bought a diablo 600 xp and tried it out last weekend for the first time (very lucky with the weather as we had glorious sunshine putting it up and taking it down after all this rain). It's huge. We are a couple with a 12 and 9 year old so they had the bedroom pods and we had the living area in the middle though there's plenty of room in the pods for a double or two airbeds in each. However as the middle section is not meant as a sleeping area you have to be careful with ventilation. Apparently some campsites don't take big tents (read various other posts) but we were fine although it was the biggest one around - we nearly went for the 900 xp but glad we didn't. Plenty of headroom (husband is 6'). Needed all of us to get it up and down but it packed away neatly and the wheeled case is handy. If you do buy one make sure you pick up both boxes (we didn't and they had to post on the poles/pegs). Also the how to put it up dvd is neatly packed away in the main tent and fell out when we first got it out so it would have been handy if it had been more visible as we didn't get the chance to watch it. The rear door hasn't got a window and in fact it doesn't unzip all the way round but it has ventilation and if you have the porch flap and the rear door flap open there is a nice through draft. We found a detachable pocket that fits in the porch and there were plenty of other pockets. If you're bothered about colour we got the marine/lead combo which is fine.
Have you looked at the Royal Biarritz 6. Same design as the Diablo. In fact the Diablo only had one bedroom pole til this year and the Royal has 2. There is a door at the back and it's cheaper than the Vango. We just bought our 2nd Royal tent as we are confident in their quality
