Hi all, we have just purchased a vango colorado 1200 dlx tent, as weather has been so bad we have not had chance to use this tent, could anyone tell us the pros and cons of this tent. We are family of seven, the eldest son is 23 and youngest daughter 2, not that the elder ones join us much but wanted a large tent for when they do, we usually end up with the girlfiends also. We would be very gratefull for any hints, tips etc thanks again Lorraine

We have the Colorado 800 dlx and it's is great. It is well manufactured and designed, the living and porch area give plenty of day room if it rains.
Pitching is pretty simple although it does takes over an hour with all the guy ropes etc. The only down side is the size our 800 dlx has a massive footprint so the 1200 will be huge.
We have just returned for a long holiday with the tent and it became a real home from home you will love it.
Hi thanks for the reply, just needed a little reasurance as it is such a big tent, we will be going over to france and this tent will become our home for three weeks so needed the large space thanks for getting back anyway Lorraine
We have the 1200DLX and cannot sing its praises enough. We've had ours for 4 seasons now (at least 6 trips per season) and it's still going strong with no need to look for a replacement or repair it yet
Pros: 3 big bedrooms (each fit 2 double airbeds!), 3rd bedroom optional so if you only need to use 2 at any time you have a huge living area and it only takes 1 minute to fit the 3rd if you have your older kids staying for the odd night etc., incredibly stable in wind once up (the tightening straps pull the fly sheet right down to the ground
Cons: can take a long time >1 hour to put up, I can't quite stand up in the front porch area, big footprint but not found a campsite with pitches too small yet!
Hope that helps!
