Just wanted to deliver a little message in deffence of the Vermont and I promised I would report on how it coped with lots of rain!....... Got back from camping at Akebar Park (which we thought was absolutely lovely) Pitched up Thursday afternoon no probs and in lovely weather. By Friday morning aprox 10-11am the heavens opened! It absolutely peed it down solid until about 7pm. It also rained a bit overnight on Friday and Saturday. This was the first real test for the tent.
We had to take shelter in the Vermont for most of Friday and I am soooooooooooo glad I invested in it as there were 4 adults, two pre-schoolers and a crawling 1 year old! It seated us all more than comfortably with room for us all to move around (and that was with wardrobe hung, car dvd player set up for the kids and full camp kitchen etc set up in the porch). It never leaked one bit, the only water that came in were a few drops of condensation (as we had all sat in it for most of the day, cooked and boiled kettles etc) I was constantly checking for leaks and was convinced that I would be one of the unfortunate people that got a really leaky one..........How wrong I was, I was so happy with it before and now am even happier. I can now camp pretty safe in the knowledge that my tent will keep us nice and dry! If that wasn't a rain test then I don't know what is???
Everyone commented on my nice big tent and how practical it was...........I had to agree with them! Full marks to Outwell on behalf of me, OH and our three year old (who has done nothing but nag me since been home to go camping again). Dissapointing for those though who have been unlucky enough to get a duff model and can imagine how absolutely gutted I would have been to wake up to a wet tent and gear!
