After recent reports about the Outwell range of tents I may be inclined to cynically suggest that the carpet is provided to soak up the leaks.

Hi we have the montana 6 07 model and no leaks, like rickit we waited till this year after all the problems with leaks!!!!!!!!!!!!.   We also have the footprint, carpet, canopy and windbreak and totally love it.

havent decided yet between the 4 berth bear lake (havent seen one in the flesh) and the monty 6 ,,its a tough decision

after reading various posts on here outwell seem to have gone down the pan in my view for quality issues and customer services,as i dont fancy the cabanon formats where the hell do i go now  ,completely stumped

World of camping were also do a similar deal - £329 but with free front canopy instead of the carpet (website now suggests that they are the same as World of Tents ie. free carpet).

However, just purchased a Montana at Go Outdoors today - £296 + free carpet (they matched the World of Tents offer of a free carpet)
