Spent 4 months looking for the best tent to start our first camping hols with my family.decided on the Nebraska XL Outwell 8 man. Great bedroom size(hubby is 6ft 5) large enough porch for cooking, and really light with lots of windows and entrances. What more could my family want!!.Our 1st trip was wit hols, heavens emptied and tent leaked in all 4 corners off grey beading !!!.We returned our tent for no.2. Weekend break in Swansea, heavens opened again, exactly the same thing happened again, and again. We have replaced our tent 4 times with no luck.We are so glad we bought our tent and all the other equiptment from World of Tents via the net as their customer service has been excellent. They have since stopped selling this model as they have recognised there is a problem, outwell needs to do the same. I have contacted them personally and they told me I have been unlucky so try another tent, I think I have tried enough.now what do I buy ?Was going to choose the Vermonte xl, until I read this page !!!

We didn't get the Nebraska because of reports such as yours. Instead we got the Royal Pescara 8. This tent is almost identical, to the point where we have been able to buy the Nebraska carpet and footprint groundsheet and the Outwell Minnesota 4 canopy fits it too. We put the tent up 1st time at the weekend and it's fab. It has an extra little porch on the back which we are going to use for the loo! We are confident that it will be ok as we already have a Royal tent which is excellant and has stood up to some awful wind and rain.

If you liked the set up of the Nebraska perhaps the Pescara would be right for you.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences with the Nebraska which is a great looking tent. Sorry to say though World of Tents are still selling these tents on line. We bought a Outwell Montana 6 this year as we held fire after all the bad reports last year, its a great tent no leaks at all.

We had the same problem with our Nebraska XL last year and sent it back.

However, we did stick with Outwell and went for the Georgia XL. This is  of a different design to the Nebraska/Monty/Vermont range. It is more of a dome, but still has great bedrooms, living area and large porch. This design of tent does not seem to have the problems with leaks, like the Nebraska etc.

There are a few of us that returned Nebraskas and went for the Georgia XL.

Good luck

We bought an Outwell Geogia XL, loverly tent but had to send ours back to Outdoor Megastore (they had some good write ups on here ! ) because the fly was 6 inches off the ground around the central dome, the porch off to one side on the poles and one of the no-see-um mesh zippers was faulty. They had it collected over 2 weeks ago but weve not heard a thing yet despite e-mailing !

Going camping last weekend of this month, hope they sort it soon !!!

AND hope the rain stops ........bought an inflatable white water canoe just in case !!
