......on deciding what tent to buy!

I have spent days reading reviews and have now gone full circle.  I am just starting to recognise names and terms ( I always wondered what SIG meant, now I know!)

Basically we a re looking for a tent for weekends away.  We have a Sunncamp trailer tent which we purchased last autumn.  We love it but find it tiring using it for weekends.  We have got into camping big style this summer but are put off at the thought of pitching our tt at 9 o'clock on a Friday night.  So we have decided to get a tent for these occasions.

So ultimately we want something that we can pitch quickly.  It needs to fold down really compactly as it will be in the boot of an Astra along with all the other camping paraphernalia.  There are 3 of us but I like the idea of extra room.  And I must be able to stand up in it.  We are budgeting for up to about £250.

I am terrified of getting something the will leak or not stand up to winds.  We met a couple from Birmingham, in Devon, at Whitsun and I could have cried for them watching their tent blow all over the place in the rain and wind that we had.

Any suggestions?

Alison

....as for the tent standing up in the wind, which ever one you get will only be as good as the pegs holding it down.  This means Deltas for the guys!!!

hi,alison

we too have an astra but also have a roofbox.

we recently bought a khyam yale as its an easy to erect tunnel tent, not a bad size as its a six man, comfortable enough to stand in with a bedroom either side, full sig lol and only cost £150 which leaves you plenty of change for the bars and roofbox

Full details can be found on the khyam website
