Why can't the majors like Outwell, Vango, Khyam etc make a cotton or canvas tent in the UK with an outstanding spec at a price thats affordable. My Vango Force ten is 20+ years old and as good as new. It's far too small for us now (sleeps 2 at a pinch and no real space) but we always take it as a security blanket in case of serious weather.
I use a Khyam now and I am happy with it but to have a two skin cotton / cotton tent in a dome shape with side pods build to a solid 1950's spec using modern design techniques and materials would seem to me the way to go for UK tent makers. Why don't they (even if the initial price is high surely there would be payback). Is my request flawed?
