Hi I'm new to this forum and thought i would ask your advice on buying a tent.  We don't have a big budget (upto £100) but there are only two of us.  Most important to me is that the sleeping area has good height.  The reason being I suffer a little from claustophobia and the tent we have borrowed in the past, i really struggled with. I really enjoying camping and looking forward to getting our very own tent.

I like the look of the Outwell Minnesota but this is way out of our price range!

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Just thought I'd mention, if you have a sewn in grounsheet then you can use your living area to sleep in and just shove the bed in a bedroom during the day. We do this when we use the weekend tent, or when we have 'adopted' numerous extra children!!

Off the top of my head ,I would say a vango venture 500 ,large sleeping pod ,around £80

Best way is to go see a tent display or even a campsite and see what takes your fancy ,then post back here and see if  there is lots of good/bad experiences of it ? :)

Hi Windy2 and welcome to the forum and the world of UKCS.

If I was in your choes I would look at the tents in Argos - they are really good and reasonably priced - I think they have a sale on some of them at the moment - I like the ProAction Nevada - although this is a 5 man tent its got loads of space and with plenty of head height look here check out the other tents too - you cant go wrong at these prices!!

Best of Luck

Kitten x

Thanks Skatty, looks like a really good size.  Will have a look into both tents, the Argos one is very cheap and a good size also but maybe the quality is not so good?

Have a look in Millets. They also have a sale on (atleast the last time I went in there they did). We got our first tent from Millets, a Gelert Cadiz 5 which looks similar to the one in the picture from skatty. I seem to remember paying about £60 for it a couple of years ago.
