And boy do we wish we weren't - could've lived in it for a number of weeks very, very happily!
Initially, we pitched it and took it down just to check it, and all was well. We had a minor problem with the bag that they provide for the tent poles and ZIG - it ripped the first time we took it out of the car, and has ripped in another place since too - despite us being very gentle with it. But this isn't important in the grand scheme of things!
It was easy for the two of us to pitch, though we're now convinced we need a footprint, as the dustsheets we took billowed in the wind (only a slight breeze) and just weren't wildly practical, so we're ordering the outwell version.
The only issue we had pitching was that we didn't seem to have pegged it out properly, and ended up with a slightly uneven finish to it, but we think we know where we went wrong, and next time it should be easier. It wasn't a problem at all in terms of the tent's usability - more aesthetic than anything.
We had mostly glorious weather (Scotland, who knew?!) but one strong rain shower proved it perfectly weatherproof. Cooking under the canopy was v convenient, and the space generally was perfect. It stayed cool when the sun beat down on it (30 degrees) in the morning, infinitely better than our old nylon sweat-box! Lol! The ability to change the lighting in the tent made it really adaptable for afternoon kips, or reading when it rained.
Lots of people came up to admire the tent and ask to see it, and thought the construction was really sturdy and it had fab use of space.
Heartbroken to take it down, and planning our next trip already - the BL4 is without a doubt a great investment for us.
