First time tent buyer again!

Could you please help, we are trying to decide between these:-

Vango Idaho 500 Tent

EasyCamp Milano

EasyCamp Taranto

Our budget is £100 or less, two of needing something spacious as i am quite clastophobic.

Thanks!

I take the above tents aren't very popular then!

The other two tents I am looking at are:-

Wynnster Mallard 4

Gelert Stratus Tunnel 4

Anyone?

I would really appreciate any views at all you have on these as I know nothing about tents, i have in the past borrowed tents if going away for the weekend.  The reason i am buying one now is that we're off to France at the end of August and may stop overnight at a couple of campsites on the way down to the South.  Also it would be useful to have one to go off for the weekend in this country.

Thanks again, Windy x

We saw the EasyCamp tents at a recent show, they're ok, but the Outwells opposite them looked miles better quality. I like the look of the Vango Idaho 500, nice design, it's on my shortlist too for a weekend tent. I also like the look of the Wynnster tents too, I've read a lot about them and they have a lot of fans at ukcampsite, but I haven't yet seen one put up. Wynnster claim that the Mallard 4 can be put up in 10 minutes, though, which would be useful for you for stopovers in France.

Many thanks for your response, it's so hard to decide, too much choice!  I think we may end up going for the Vango Idaho. I will definately post my views on here once i have tried it out!

Having just chosen the Taranto 500 from my shortlist, the Wynnster Idaho 500 and Gelert Stratus 4 being the other two contenders, I am hoping that I have done the right thing. I also hope that you were pleased with the Idaho and would like to hear what you think of it.

I have a vango venture 500 and I beleive the Idaho is its replacement from vango.  I saw one erected at the weekend and I have to say I didnt like it at all.  The living area did not feel as spacious as the VV500 and it certainly wasn't as useable as the VV.

Have a look at the vango venture 500, you can pick one up for about £80 now.

Horses for courses, I haven't camped in either a VV or an Idaho but have looked at both in camping exhibitions and thought the Idaho a great improvement! For a start, to me the Idaho is the  right way round ie greater height in the living area where you'll be standing up and less in the sleeping inner where you'll be lying down. MT

We have the Idaho for our weekend tent and it is great. Easy to pitch (15mins), sewn in groundsheet, compact when packed away, standing height in the living area, lots of space in the bedroom pod and dark aswell so your not woken at the crack of dawn (if you opt for the black and grey model). I would opt for the Idaho, personally.

I am also a new camper and was looking at buying the Vango Idaho but we decided on the Coleman Columbus 4. I love this tent. It has 2 bedrooms and also a large living area with stand up height. You can buy it on line now for £128.

Have you considered the pealand pevril?  Similar to the easycamp tents and still in budget.

If you aren't desperate to get a tent for a couple of weeks, some shops start there sale for the bank holiday weekend so there might be more tents that come within budget.
