I am looking to buy a tent that sleeps 5 people to take my 3 sons camping for maybe 1 or 2 nights at a time.

I am after something that will be easy to errect. I have found 2 tents that look suitable so far and I was wondering if you could let me know what they are like if you have similar tents yourself or how easy they would be to assemble.

Thanks!

Heres the first one!

I would be grateful to hear any of your thoughts on these tents and which would be easiest etc?

Thanks

The coleman would be easier to erect. For a couple of nights, I'd opt for this one. Although do you want to be all in one bedroom? Our boys have to have a bedroom each, else they mess about or fight and won't sleep!

The second tent, the Hampton is a great tent (we have one), but you might want to be aware that it takes a minimum of two adults to pitch and it helps to have a third (child will do) inside the main dome to push it up once you have all your poles threaded. Also, another thing to bear in mind is that it's fairly large (approx 7.5m x 6.5m) and won't fit on all pitches although we had no problems, just ask when you book. Aside from that, it's a lovely tent, fitted the Bloke and myself plus one daughter and two sons. Very spacious and very cosy. Oh and the HH is 2000 in answer to Vicky&Steve   Happy camping, whatever you go for!

Yes,thats a good point re.just the one room, and I could see that happening! However, with the other tent I am not sure whether I would find it easy to errect by myself?

Thanks very much for your response. I think as I would be the only adult(short at that!!!) alot of the time,it may be too tricky to errect for me.

How old are your kids? One of our tents is a tunnel and the kids help with it and have helped since they've been 6yrs old. You might be as well to look at a tunnel design perhaps? They do come in smaller versions, such as the sunncamp invader.

Remember though...just because you are the only adult in your party does not mean that you will have to erect it on your own!!  You will find that your camping neighbours will be more than happy to help! My partner always loves to help new campers! Don't be scared to ask people for assistance...rarely would people say no..

They both look good, thanks. I guess I am happy to spend up to about £150 maybe. You have certainly given me some things to think about here.

I guess I am hoping to acquire one in the next few days so as we may be able to get away mid week for one or two nights.Although as usual the forecast isnt fantastic! I am going to have a look in Millets and Blacks tomorrow aswell and see what they have there. Do you know of any other shops that are good to look in for tents?
