We bought an Idaho 600 back in April from outdoorkit as we were needing a weekend tent !! It took that long to come that we ended up going away with the monty. So this weekend was the first of us puting it up ---- Friday night good -- Saturday night not so good , withing an hour of rain starting we had puddles gathering everywhere !!!!!! I have never seen so much water coming in to a tent -- It was coming in through all the window / door toggles dripping through seams on the roof and on to bedroom pods, I am glad it was in back garden so we ended up going back in to house. Has anyone else had / heard issues with these as I find it hard to believe that it could be a one off faulty tent with so many differant areas leaking ???
Also do you think it will be an issue with getting it returned as it was a few months ago we got it ????????????

well I'd try the retailer first - it shouldn't be an issue due to the length of time since purchase....we returned our vango aspen early june this year and we got it approx 20 months earlier! used it last year in bone dry weather, 2nd use this whitsun and it leaked - blacks exchanged it straight away, mind you that might be because that tent had been a replacement of a previous model that had had a couple of faults. At the time of the original problem our tent was returned to vango via the retailer for inspection, two weeks after the return blacks phoned us to say vango had authorised them to replace it for us..so try your retailer who should at very least have it shipped back to vango for examination, it may take a couple of weeks but once they have inspected it they will either repair or replace if it is found to have a fault.
If it helps lots of tents by different manufacturers are suffering from some degree of leakage at the moment, it doesn't seem to be just one model or make - probably just unlucky with that particular tent, don't let it put you off trying another.
The retailer is your first port of call, and don't let them fob you off with any guff about the length of time since the purchase ( if they try to) because consumer law is open to interpretation on that point. It is reasonable that with a tent you may not find out about a fault until it is up in wet weather - it will still be within the usual 1 year guarrantee period anyway.

Hi, we bought an idaho 500 earlier this month and 1st time we used it, we had no problems at all but the weather was dry. Second time round was a totally different story. It rained during the night, next day we thought everything was fine, everything inside the tent seemed dry. When it came to taking down the bedrooms what a shock!! Between the tent groundsheet and the bedroom groundsheet was a very large pool of water, almost the width and length of the bedroom areas. No idea how the water got in, sleeping bags and everything were all dry, as was the floor inside so surely the water can't have come in through the flysheet? I telephoned vango for some advice but they didn't want to know and wouldn't say if this was a problem they'd already heard about. All they said was to take it back to the retailer. Any advice would be very welcome. The tent itself is very easy to put up and has plenty room inside but is it just mine that has this fault or is it a bigger problem? Thanks, helen.

We have an idaho 500 with no problems what so ever. It did suffer a little from condensation though. Do you think the pool of water could have been condensation? It is well known that the heat from our bodies and the cold ground can cause quite a lot of condenstion, just a thought?

Thanks for suggestions, it took 2 large bath sheets to soak up all the water so i dont think it could have been condensation. Will wait and see if it happens next time, just wish id taken a pic of it as its hard to describe exactly how much water was under there
