Well just returned from hols in Wales and can honestly say that we are very happy with our recently purchased (allweathers) Vail 500. It has lots of windows and is very light, the inside window covers are stored well in pockets but it is a little tricky to hook them to cover up at night - although hardly a HUGE problem, just needs a little practice. Didnt realise it came with skylights so that was a bonus.

The canopy doesnt extend to the ground so even with the side protection flaps its not a good place to cook but does give protection from rain and meant that we could leave the main door open in the rain without getting wet. We weathered a force 8 storm with the canopy up too - it was ok but I think we had a sheltered spot as we noticed a bendy canopy on a 700 - might be a good idea to detach the canopy if high winds forecast.

It was relatively easy to put up - we've only had dome tents before and found it manageable with at least 2 adults.

The bedrooms are a good size and the headroom was great.

Overall we are very happy with the tent and would recommend it.

Looking forward to using it again soon - assuming the sun shines again this summer.

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!
