I really like this tent but could never get it to pitch well even when new,(never had problems with other tents, maybe I was sold a dud). After strong winds at shell island which bent the pole it seemed even flappier. I've not used it for a couple of years (currently using vw and motordome and terra nova) but would like to resurrect it. Is it possible to shrink the canvas?

On the old pyramids there were two reasons for slack in the canvas 1 was guy lines were'nt let out to be long enough to give correct angle of pull (makes the walls slack)

2 was the pole being made slightly to short easily checked by blocking up the centre pole and seeing if it makes a differance

It's not very old, the model with black straps rather than guy lines. Also cabanon gave me a replacement pole free of charge. It is sensitive to ground not being flat but no adjustments seem to help.

Has no one else had this with pyramid 6?  The roof seams are tight when guys pulled in but mudwall flap/overhangs (!) are not, or roof/sides. dont know quite how to describe it. I know what you mean about letting guy lines out as this pulls them more horizontally, I've put sticks under the guys to exaggerate this which helped a bit but looks daft. It's as if it has stretched but, if I remember right, even the stitched in plastic reinforcement seems too long.

(I think I meant taut not taught)

by the way its still comfy and waterproof, just not very good in wind.

cheers

Griff
