Thanks for the tip. I tried to lift the tent with all the poles in (as per the instructions) and it was far too heavy. I asked Outwell if the canvas tents needed to be "weathered" and what was the HH of the polycotton tents. They said
"Congratulations on your purchase - in answer to your questions - you do not need to weather your tent but as with all tents it is advisable to pitch it before actual use! Also we cannot provide a HH for this tent, polycotton works very much like the old canvas tents and so careful attention of the tent and always packing it away dry is important."
It appears from other owners that the polycotton tents benefits from a pre-camping dousing. Who would have thought I would be praying for some rain on holiday!
