Hi, we are looking to buy a tent suitable for 2 adults and our 2 boys aged 4 and 1. Any advice would be gratefully recieved. Also is there enough room to take a travel cot or if you take a baby do you just have them laying on a matress, sorry not camped with kids before! Thanks

For a little one that young, you might want to take a travel cot or get one of the pop up travel beds like this

Our 2 year old sleeps in his own sleeping bag on an air bed but if he were younger I would have bought one of those. There are also ready beds available at about 25 pounds, not sure how they would be for your little one, but worth checking out.

best wishes

It depends on how brave you're feeling!

The first time our eldest went camping was just before he was a year old.  He shared our bedroom and had his own Vango baby sleeping bag.  We had a double airbed and double sleeping bag, and he slept in between the two of us on top of our sleeping bag (if that makes sense!)

I'm not sure I'd do it now though as I didn't know an awful lot about the risks of co-sleeping back then, so depending on how much room you have in your tent I'd go wth MamaBear's suggestion of a small travel cot or pop up bed.

Your 4 year should be fine in a ready bed though - that's what we use for our nearly-5 and nearly-3s!  We got ours from http://www.newcron.com/products.asp?dept=319, but through their Ebay shop rather than their website as they had some good offers on at the time but they're still worth a look.

Hope that helps a bit!

Ali

We had a 4 and 2 year old in separate sleeping bags on a doubl airbed and it was fine - think for a younger one I'd take a travel cot (would def have fitted one in our Montana 6)

Just been with our 2 year oldand he slept in his travel cot.  He was dressed in his PJ's, and a fleecy jumper inside his grobag,  had the best night's sleep of all of us!
