Hi Bernt & welcome to the forum
If the tent you've already got is a canvas frame tent, then don't throw it out, stick with it.
We bought a large modern synthetic one (Sunncamp Vario 6), but after just one 5 day holiday, we sold it & bought a second-hand canvas frame tent. The frame tent feels much more secure & will withstand most of what the British weather can throw at it. No creaky fibreglass poles, and no flappy synthetic keeping us awake at night. We can cook inside if the weather is bad. No condensation problems either.
If you have the space to transport a frame tent, then stick with it. You won't regret it.
