HI

CAN ANYONE RECCOMMEND A TENT SUITABLE FOR 5 OF US ( 2 ADULTS , 3 KIDS) TO GO TO FRANCE IN?

WE HAVE DECIDED TO GO FOR TWO WEEKS AND OUR OUTWELL OREGON 5 IS TOO SMALL FOR THIS.

The tent would need to be easy and quickish to erect, slightly larger than the outwell oregon 5 but not too big or bulky packed up as it would need to go un the car with the rest of the camping gear. Also must be quality to withstand possible french storms and rain!!

Hope you can help!!

Hi Angela, do you have a budget in mind? tThere are quite a few tents being reduced at the moment so you can probably make your budget stretch a bit further.

Hi we have just had our 1st outing in our Kyham rigi pod classic and it is fab loads of room and very easy to erect also very versatile being able to add extra bedrooms on as required we also purchased a porch inner which can sleep 4 extra rooms could probably house 4 but they are classsed as 3man, we had very heavy wind on Friday night and I was a bit concerned but this was not necessary as it stood up to it without a problem. The only down side to this tent is the size when packed it is pretty big. Dean

We have a Campus Breckenridge with 2 bedrooms leading off a large living area. We have it set up in an hour. It has 3 cross poles so its quite high. Our 2 kids love it and so do we.

I would second the campus breckenridge although I have the deluxe with 3 bedrooms. These go up pretty quick (ours took about 40 mins but it was bucketing down at the time!!) but they do really need 2 adults otherwise it would be impossible.

The main trouble with the massive dome tents is the space they take up in the car. Mine needs half the boot space before you even begin.

Post with the ages of kids, how many rooms you need, what other features you want etc... and you'll get loads of help.

In my tent I like the fact that the porch has 2 doors, one of which opens up the whole front, its got a SIG and its got another door off one of the bedroom pods. I also like the inbuilt storage all around the sides and in the bedrooms.

Have you been to any tent displays where you can look at a range of models all pitched?

Have a look at the Vango Oregon 800, both the 2006 version if you can find it (non-SIG) and the 2007 SIG version. Quick to erect, packs up small for size and plenty of sleeping room in two huge pods, that can both be divided with curtain dividers. It has TBS (tension band system) for stability and is a good sturdy tent. No porch, but a tarp would be easy to rig for shade and cooking under.
