Have just spent a long weekend using our Monty 6 for the first time and are over the moon with it. Admittedly we were spoilt with the weather so we don't know whether it leaks yet but as far as easiness in putting up and down are concerned, it was fantastic.
It was a choice between this and the Breckenridge when we were choosing and I'm so glad we went for this.
I'd gladly recommend the Monty 6 to anyone who's wondering what to go for! I can understand why others are big fans too!
Went to Manston Camping and Caravanning Club - highly recommended too!

hi wendy woo, we too have a monty 6, its the best thing since slice bread, you peg it down put up the poles & thats it, well more or less, we are hooked & will always go outwell, happy future camping !!!!!!!!!!
Dizzy gall, just out of interest. Do you put all the poles in first and then lift up the tent to standing. We were told by the Outwell rep that we met when we bought ours just to insert the second-to-the-front pole and lift it up with just that in (much lighter than lifting with all poles in) and then to insert the rest of the poles.
Just wondered what way you did yours...................?

hi there wendywoo, we have a footprint so we placed that down first, then peg the tent corners down, we make sure all the doors are open for suction reasons, then put the first lot of poles in at the front, once they are in we get the guy ropes at the front & peg them in just to keep the front poles up while we then work our way along putting the next poles in & so on. once everything is in place you can then tweek things till you get it the way you want. im not saying thats the way to do this but it works for us, after the first poles are in its easy!!!!!!!! im sure if you ask others they may do it differant.
hope this helps happy camping!!!!!!!!
im just wondering what the c&c club site was like we are thinking of trying them!
Hi wendywoo, yep, I have to agree with dizzy gall in that we raise the poles nearest the door (with the door open) first, as you can then peg out those poles first, then just lift each pole one after the other from front to back. I can't quite understand the reason why you would want to raise the second to front poles first, perhaps I should try it, and I may well be surprised!
