There are some basic pitching destructions on the inside of the bag, which may help.

We feed the red flexipoles (main cross poles) and the blue flexipole through the sleeves whilst the inner is laid out flat, in the desired place.

It is a big tent, so it can be a little awkward at first, but then don't they all?? It will need somebody inside to hold up, whilst the flexipoles are located onto the ringpins. Try and workout which pole goes on which pin....makes it easier

We then do the yellow flexipoles (bedrooms), when the main dome is up.

When the inner is pitched, make sure that you pull the SIG into place at the corners before pegging the inner.

When you pull the flysheet over, make sure that you try and line the seams of the fly, with the poles of the inner. There are little velcro fasteners on the inside of the fly, to attach to the flexi poles. There are also little plastic, black hooks on the fly, at the bottom. These hooks attach to the rings (where the poles are located) not pegged down. Once the fly is on, it may take a bit of adjustment, (but that is the same of most tents). Peg down the flysheet.

When the fly is positioned, do the porch. Feed the steel poles through the sleeves and position on the pins. Pull out the corners of the porch to straighten.

Do some final fly sheet adjustments and then do the guyropes.

Finally, breath a sigh of relief and have a bevvy!!!

(Gosh, I'm Knackered just thinkin' about it!!)

It does sound like a nightmare, but it isn't. Like all tents, pitching is an artform and it will get easier.

I hope that this helps.

Jo

Hi thanks for the response, just got back from the campsite, at the mo its up in the attic bedroom drying out, it rained last night and this morning, we got the inner tent up ok but when we come to put the fly sheet that was a different story we lined all the seams up etc but it still dint fit right like it was too small took a while to get the porch right but i think with practice etc it will get better,

just onw question, on a night when we go to shut the tent up how do you get the porch door shut up properly it was all lose in the middle of the door and there was a pooly of water in the porch

but overall very happy with the tent better than vango in lot of places apart from the temperature guage which reads 22oc at 11;30pm lol

Hiya,

With regards the porch door, all that I can suggest is that you make sure that it is alligned. Best way is to look at the tent, from the front, and see if both of the porch poles are centralised. If they are badly out of line, the door will be difficult to operate.

With the porch puddle, did you have the porch bathtub groundsheet up where the door is (you can zip it at the front corners to make it vertical) If you had left it flat, waterr may have run in under the door.

Oh, the temp guage is pants...seems as though it is from another planet LOL

We have camped in it 3 times now and have pitched it two more. We have just returned from Norfolk and it took us (OH an me) 40mins in slightly windy conditions, to pitch it, but we were taking it easy and not rushing about (and keeping an eye on a 4 & 2 YO!).

We too have the footprint and when we went in severe weather recently, it took the flak and the SIG remained inmaculate. Even better, as we got the footprint free!
