can anybody help? i had decieded on a sv6, read some bad reports (on this site) so changed my mind to the monty 6 then i hear of montys leaking so then went the vango breckenridge. In local shop today which sells outwell and vango was told outwell are much better quality and that the vango was only 3000hh and not 5000hh as stated on their website. Does anybody have any good advice?

thanks

Ian

hi ian, we have three outwell tents, one being the monty 6, & have had no trouble with any of them. the monty 6 is easy to put up with lots of space, we went to anglsey the winds were up & it was raining, the next morning quite a few tents were down with the winds but our monty was still standing strong!!!

good luck in your choice !!!!  dizzy

Hi,Don't listen to scare stories on outwells. Some leak and most don't, the same for any brand. If one leaks take it back and get another.Less than 1% have had problems. Vango's have had the same issues and have even recalled their killington range, but the brekenridge is a fine tent as are both the outwells you quote.......3000 or 5000.......just numbers. 3000 is more than adequate in this country.

Hi archie
What Janso says is quite true and it seems as Outwell will replace should you be unlucky and get a bad one.
But if you want to be 99.99% sure that your tent wont let you down and weight and bulk wont be a problem the I would recommend you buy a second hand frame tent, From the free adverts above or from EBay check out the Cabanon tents if you see one you like post back and get a report from the forum It also could save you money.
Regards
Rex

bought a monty6, display model which has been taken down and put back on display at weekends, looks in new cond and got it for £225. nightmare getting back in the bag but after reading how to do it properly sounds easy, i am a bit concerned about the pole for the side door it seems to just press against the side of the tent in its holder, is this right???

thanks
