We finally got round to the summer holidays and took the Vermont with us to Devon for a week.

We were a bit concerned after reading various reports of leaking Vermonts, so although we wanted a lovely sunny holiday, we sort of hoped for a bit of rain to make sure we hadn't any leaky areas. As luck would have it we had glorious weather for most of the week, with a nice overnight/early morning downpour..........and I'm happy to report there was no water coming in at all.

The space inside was fantastic, with loads of room for two adults and two children. The wardrobe was full of clothes and helped keep the inside nice and tidy, we had a couple of tables in the front porch area and chairs, cases, bags etc in the inside living area but it never elt cramped in there.

Plenty of vents and windows to keep the inside either fresh and airy or locked down nice and snug. In fact our friends who were on the same site but in a static van complained about the cold at nights, while we in the tent never noticed it. Their tin lids must have been conducting the cold in or something.

We had a couple of practice 'pitches' before we went and getting the thing up and down was only a 40 minute job each way.

All in all we're really very happy with it. Now if the local camping shop can get the carpet in stock that we've had on back order since June, we'll be all ready for the autumn.

We love ours too. The layout is exactly what we need. A couple of the seems have leaked but we applied the seam sealant and they were fine after.

We managed to get the carpet when we got the tent in May

Ditto both of the above, we love ours too, upgraded from a monty 4 and there is so much more room. We got a carpet too and its great,  feels so much nicer underfoot than a plastic groundsheet. Had a bit of a faff sorting out the front door but got it sorted, did not get any rain though so still got that to look forward to ( August BH for sure )

We now want a 5 in 1 sofa though and a bigger kitchen unit, oh and after reading about the 2008 stuff in another thread we want a side extension and possibly a front canopy   and so it goes on....

Yes, the side canopy is something we quite like the idea of too. Be good to have the door open in the rain without letting any in.

Looks like we'll have to wait till next year for the carpet now as the local shop said that Outwell aren't making any more until next season. No real worries as we have rugs that we put down.

5 in 1 Sofa? Whats that? I'm off to search the internet now to find out. We did see an inflatable sofa/mattress that we liked but there's just no room left in the car now LOL.

we loved out vermont XL, it stood up well to torrential rain and howling winds for hours on end. Some drips off of a couple of seams, soon cured with a sealant spray. We loved the space too, didn't feel cramped when we were stuck in on rainy days.
We were unable to get hold of the carpet before we went away, but now I don't think I will bother, got by nicely with picnic mats, easy to shake out, and handy to bung a few in the boot when we were off out for picnics.

Hi, We also love the vermont l, we have been away twice in it and only had a couple of drips during the haevy rain(although this may of been condensation as we were cooking in it due to the weather).

The front porch area is great for use as a kitchen and dining area leaving the main area of the tent to be used for seating. The wardrobe is where our dog sleeps in his den. the fully opening windows are great for letting air in on the hot days.

we have purchased the front canopy as the front extension was sold out, and next year we will have the side canopy and carpet.

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this is a great tent, if not one of the best on the market.

Another very happy Vermont owner here - can't get over the amount of space inside the tent - in fact twice/three times as much as my boss's caravan! (and don't that annoy him!!)

Wonderful family tent - just hope it does not rain too much next week as I want to get out and see some Dorset coastline, not just the lovely interior of the Full Vermonty!!!
