Hi, another new boy on the site.  Planning to start camping with three under 10yrs (mad I know!).  Will start with weekends but plan to move up to longer.  Have looked at loads of sites and had a nosey on the message boards here but need some more feedback.

The Tahoma 9+ seems similar to the Diablo 900DLX in size but is £100 cheaper.  Any real reason for this?

Time to pitch?

Also pitch sizes seems to be an issue on some sites, should I look for something smaller or do plenty of sites take this size tent?

Many thanks in anticipation of lots of helpful info.

D

Hi Dad of three from Mother of three aged 10,7and 4. Also sight virgin! Have just bought Tahoma 9 and tried it out in Bala this weekend.  Took 1hr 40mins to pitch but would probably take about 45mins next time! we tried to pitch fly sheet back to front with door tunnel over bedroom, and didn`t find the ties under fly sheet to tie to poles until we`d finnished!

Loads of room and warmer than our old Campus 6 man dome.  Amazed it all fitted back into bag when taken down.  Haven`t encountered any site refusing to take it yet - if they do usually plenty that will in same area.

So far very happy with Tahoma but happily it didn`t rain this weekend so yet to put it to the real test.

Welcome Dad of Three

The reason Talahoma is cheaper than the Vango is because the Talahoma is made by Gelert - but dont be put off by this - Gelert are a wonderful make and have owned a few myself and still do and am still looking for another one that is bigger than the one I have but smaller than my Montana for weekends as the monty is 2 big for weeknds for me and my 2 boys

If you shop around you can get the Talahoma quite cheaply but can I ask why you would want a 9 man tent for you and 3 boys?  Especially if this is your first tent - would it not be better to go for something a bit smaller - dont take this to heart am just curious thats all.  I started off small and worked my way up just incase it was not for me (I stopped camping when I joined the RAF and then when I could not afford to go on hols I took it up again)

I have found the Talahoma at www. charlies direct.co uk for £169.99 free p + p

you will need to retype the address as I have put spaces in as it would not link in properly

Best of Luck
