I spent a long time browsing around this site looking for advice on tents and felt I should post my feedback on our decision to buy the Diablo 900...
My better half did NOT want such a huge tent - but with 2 kids and a being the proud owner of a 2 year old tent that is too small I put my foot down and insisted on the Vango.
WOW! What a great tent - it is just huge! We used up all of the available space the my oldest daugher has a room to herself and my youngest (18 months) slept in with us - in her own travel cot (a double inflatable mattress and a travel cot in one room!!). Vango have really thought the colours through as well - the rooms are dark, so we get an extra hours sleep out of the girls in the morning!
The thing that amazed me was how easy it was to put up - I really didn't like the idea of inside-up first tents, but it really worked for me. I would recommend watching the DVD that came with the tent as this is much more useful than the instructions built into the tent bag - which do leave a lot to be desired.
A couple of things to bear in mind: (1) prepare yourself for a MASSIVE tent bag - it really is big, I have a Honda CRV and it took up about a third of the boot space; and (2) make sure you buy the footprint groundsheet.
I searched the internet for the tent and the best deal was from a camping shop I never knew existed 6 miles away from home - www.hccc.co.uk - £315 for the tent and they threw in the footprint groundsheet.
I have to admit that I had a couple of snags with the tent - a clip was broken on the flysheet and we also discovered a small rip in the porch area. Home Counties replaced the flysheet without battnig an eyelild - great service and very apologetic!
So if you are wondering between this and the Outwell Georgia XL - save yourselves a £100 and go for this great tent. We have just had a great week in Cornwall in Great British sunshine - admittedly I did fluke the only dry week of the summer, which may have put the gloss on the camping trip... but some things are just menat to be!
Happy Camping and I hope this helps some of you like previous posts here helped me!
