I'm looking to order a new tent to go camping and take to festivals. I've left it a bit late as I'm going away on Thursday morning so it needs to be ordered today (before noon).
It needs to sleep two people with bags and it won't be going up any mountains but I want to get a good/budget tent (no more than £40-£50).
I'm stuck between getting a:
Gelert Tornado 3
or
Vango Alpha 300
I've discounted the Coleman Crestline on the basis I can't find any information/reviews on them and I did try looking for a Delta 300 but I can't find any for sale. The 200 is too small and the 300+ is a little bit too expensive.
Which tent am I best buying?
Thanks in advance,
James

Hi. I think either tent would be fine. My preference would be for the Gelert as it has a slightly larger front tunnel with both front and side doors and some little windows: so you could sit in there in the morning and get some protection from the sun/wind/rain, possibly leaving one or both doors open for ventilation. OR the tunnel is big enough to use as a wet storage area for muddy kit. But I hope the weather is kind for you at Reading! MT

Hi James I would say go with the Gelert, we have a Tornado 5 our cubs use, it is a nice little tent.
Try Centre caravans, Tiddington, Oxford, they do mail order.
I recently got a Royal Pheonix 3 plus for £19.99 (half the usual price) in their sale, it's brilliant, loads of room and it was fine during all of the rain over the May bank holiday weekend!
Went for the Gelert and it arrived today, currently sitting under my desk at work! All I need now is further weather reports to be correct, currently predicting sun for the weekend but rain for thursday. Really don't want to have to pitch it in the rain!
