Saw a Coleman Columbus 4 yesterday in poly cotton - very nice http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop/Detail.asp?ProductID=1606&GCID=C18202x001 (although it would more likely be the polyester version we would go for). I've always liked these tents but hadn't seen the 4 person one before. I reckon size-wise it would be fine for us (2 adults and 2 children, we use self-inflating mats so they would fit). Liked the mesh at the door and the windows - some small tents are lacking in windows and I do like to be able to see out. The only thing we don't like about it is the fact that it's 2 separate pods - at the moment in our main tent we are all in one big pod and like that - it's easier with kids and means you don't have to get up so early! So does anyone have any bright ideas for an easy pitch tent around the £130 mark (best price I can find for the Coleman) that has one big bedroom and similar quality to the Coleman?

I camp alone with my 5 year old daughter, so it's plenty roomy enough for us. I can get it up and down on my own, although it's useful to have her sit on it for me in windy conditions...
I have a utility tent to use on longer stays, and a canopy too. So I just put up whatever combination of tent and extras suits the circumstances.
The only thing I'm not sure of is the size of the 2 man bedroom - I don't know how wide your mats are, you'd need to check if they'll fit. Certainly 2 air mattresses wouldn't.

I have an oregon 5 newly purchased and think it's great. It flew up and was very quick to get down as well. The two man bedroom fitted a double airbed tho not sure it would have fitted two singles. these went comfortably in the three man bit with room to spare. Hope that helps! Oh and the porch poles were great as well and I liked the fact i could have them either at the front or the side.
Gretchel, We use our Royal Memphis 5 most of the time, no sig but full footprint. It's really easy to put up and has stood up to everything this "summer" could throw at it.
Lorrnev, that evo 400 looks fantatsic... Want one!!!! (Now just have to convince OH we need yet another tent).

------------- We don't see things as they are, but as we are.
Thanks for all the suggestions - we have been offered the use of a VV500 so think we will try that for a weekend and then keep looking for one of our own. Like the look of some of them - the Sunncamp one looks very different!
